Stars over Scheibbs
Mural created during a residency at the Mural City Festival in Scheibbs, Austria.
Every building in this mural is real. Perceptual walks were an important research method for this work.
On my forays through the village, I not only get to know the place and collect buildings, objects and natural elements that are recognizable, but I also get involved with the place to get a feel for what makes it special, what colors I want to use, and how I put the picture together.
This old toilet block is in a park. Before the painting it was a rather unfriendly corner. The mural breathed more life into it. Unfortunately, they have now renovated the toilets and painted over the mural.
